I recently decided to give this game another chance. I still have hope for it and aside from the obvious packet loss and a few issues regarding the ui ( mainly the class/item select option screen ) it is a solid and well balanced game with alot of potential.

One thing that has been bugging me though is something i haven't had alot of experience with thus far, either through ignorance or reasonable doubt. I have come to find this game has a few outstanding legal exploits which can take the fun out of the game quite fast. I don't think i can justify complaining when i personally haven't done anything actively to report issues such as this in the past but i believe its time for a change.

I think alot of us share the misconception that they have many dedicated testers to rid the games of these bugs but with good reason this just can't be possible. True, some of the issues are more the result of lazy coding/leveling editing but if we don't let them know there is a problem we can't expect a prompt or even possible resolution.

I can accept a certain amount of faults and imperfections in any field but i do feel that we the consumers, are getting taken advantage more and more as more titles are being hastily released. I can live with having to report a little bug here and there but when i feel i can write a novel about a certain games issues that is just a bit too much.

I feel, personally the best way to combat this issue is support the far and few who do strive to create fun and technically sound games. It is easy enough for a developer to reshuffle their cards and release another title riddled with its precursors problems and make a fast buck. We are just as much at fault for supporting and purchasing a less than adequate product. If it doesn't sell, they have no reason to make it, business is simple as that. From now on EA won't see a single penny of mine until they pick up there feet and start caring about their consumers.

Out of the love and enjoyment of gaming, i strive to become a member of a development team who won't settle for anything less than a great product. When i'm finished school, you can bet EA won't get their greedy hands on my resume

Sorry for the rant but i know many of you share me grief and opinion so i thought I'd let you know i to am sick and tired.

Little something for the lag issue. There is a small process called alg.exe. It is required by windows xp firewall. If you're not using it you can disable it. Go to start -> run -> services.msc -> double click ALG -> change startup type to disabled. No more lags for me except in titan mode but that seems to be game related.

Please note that the TGTC recommends Application Layer Gateway, which is the ALG you are talking about, to be set to Automatic. It is used by the Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing apart from the Windows Firewall. Disabling this may break the connection sharing if you are dependent on that.

If you don't need connection sharing then you can disable it. For me, it worked and I have no problems at all with my internet connection or anything else for that matter.

If anyone's experiencing issues, EA/DICE IS AWARE that stats and unlocks have not been tracking properly since 1.2 release, and tracking has stopped almost entirely over the last 24-36 hours. The server is not tracking awards... you can earn an award, receive the career points, but the award(s), kills, time, etc... are not updating. People have also had problems with unlocks missing, oddly enough it does give you credit(s) when you log on, if anything is missing.

If you have problems, use the pinned thread on EA's forum to report them. Enough people have now complained that they might actually take action (though I have a feeling it'll be over the weekend so they can sort out all the NS bugs).

...and to think, I just pre-ordered NS the day before all this!

Good to know this. I'd like to be updated when this is fixed as well, as I don't think I'll be playing until this problem is fixed. Just to be on the safe side.

Default EA Account (For Battlfield 2 and 2142)

I'm really sorry if I passed this up somewhere. I honestly did use the search and google as well as looked around on the EA website and in the games. Is there any way I can change the actual password to my EA account that allows me to log into Battlfield 2142. I am pretty sure both of my accounts have the same info since I used the veterans program. My account may have been hacked so I would like to change the password. I jumped up a bunch of points and my play time has been moving up as well which is getting me a little bit worried. Thank you for your help. Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a while and finally registered. I love the website Koroush.

Merged with the BF 2142 thread. Please post in relevant threads when they exist. ~Stryker

Yes I beleive you can. You have to go to www.ea.com. Then login to the account you use to login BF2142 then you will have to go into your profile there and change the password.

More specifically, click on the "Get Into The EA Nation" button on the top right hand side, then click "Log In", enter username/password, then click your username on the top right hand side (where "Get Into The EA Nation" used to be) then click on "My Account" and follow the prompts.

Alternately, if all else fails (account hacked and password changed) you can email EA support with the information found in this link:

EA/DICE finally fixed the problem with stat tracking, everything's back to normal.
Either/or, your account may NOT have been hacked, that is the problem I was referring to. I was awarded ribbons, and silver badges 2 or 3 times each this week, giving me a bonus 1500-2,000 points... thanks EA!

Of course, I tried to get on EA Link about 15 minutes ago, and it's down (along with everything in EA link that I have D/L'd and PAID FOR). Of course, when seeking help, the message board won't load either. This company is really starting to try my patience
