Forza, please look through this thread, either searching or manually. There are a few posts about dual core issues, include one by Koroush with possible fixes. In addition you've made no mention at all of what the actual problem is, or its symptoms

Looks like BF 2142 may be getting a Booster Pack according to this article. Willing to bet it will be 10 bucks, which, in my semi-professional opinion (not a professional), would be 10 bucks too expensive. Course, IF (and this is a very big if) EA/EA DICE were to pull a fast one and offer it as a free download, well everyone will go ecstatic. Myself included. As is though, BF 2142 has enough unlockables to keep me busy.

I just posted about this on the front page and it appears it may be two separate booster packs, since two are mentioned in this announcement: Northern Strike and Infantry Storm.

In any case it's really the same script as BF2 all over again. BF2 received booster packs to captilize on its popularity even before several major issues were resolved with the game, and BF2142 is the same. Despite promises of bug fix patches resolving all issues before new content would be released, we're still at the point where BF2142 has some gameplay and bug issues yet to be resolved - Titan lag, disconnections, APM mine radius problems, red/blue bug, several exploits, etc.

And of course the in-game ads which were supposed to fund the much better development and support for BF2142 have not resulting in anything different, even though EA/DICE now have 2+ years experience with this game engine.

None of this can be a surprise to anyone though. As long as people buy these games and buy the booster packs etc. then EA will continue with the same strategy.

Any solutions to the lag issue? It happens on all servers. I've tried everything. Defrag, virus/spywarescan, different drivers for vga, chipset, nic. Nothing seems to work. My internet connection is 8/1 and I'm running E6600 with Gigabyte ds4, X1900GT, X-FI extrememusic, 2Gb DDR800 all stock speeds.
This is getting annoying...

Only solution is for EA to fix this, and that may not be happening. Best shot is to complain to EA about this in a RATIONAL manner and hope for the best.

P.S. Did you try disabling your anti-virus's active scanning while playing BF 2142? That may have something to do with your lag. If that doesn't work, it's a problem on EA's end.

Well EA has made an official announcement about the Northern Strike booster pack. Only new news given, however, is that EA DICE is working with Combat Studios Testing to host a closed beta. Here's hoping to god that means it won't bring any new bugs to the playing field at all.

Thanks for the official link Chaos, it's not clear whether the mentions of Infantry Storm were a slipup by EA indicating a second expansion pack being worked on, or whether it was simply an alternative name for the Northern Strike pack.

Celeron please take the time to read this thread in conjunction with the BF2142 Tweak Guide (which you've probably read) and that's about all you can do for lag. As mentioned several times throughout the thread (and even linked to in a youtube video I made), the lag issue appears to be an engine problem particularly in Titan mode.

Yes i've read that tweakguide and this thread is a bit too long to read through. My lag is a bit different than yours in the video and it happens on all servers. Thing is, I move my mouse sideways or up and down. When I stop moving my mouse twitches back a bit. It's very annoying when you turn around to shoot someone and lag makes me miss my target. I think it's bad netcode because singleplayer works ok.

The lag you describe is exactly what has been described throughout this thread and discussed in detail. You are required to do basic research on this forum including reading existing posts in threads. We're not going to repost every solution or discussion each time a new person posts in a thread. If you don't wish to read the thread that's fine, but in that case also don't post on these forums. This rule is enforced seriously here and won't be debated.
