I myself don't have 2142 but your experiences with it Koroush are pretty similar to mine with BF2. They are both pretty similar in terms of gameplay and therefore you end up up with similar sort of behaviour from players. You only have to cruise the forums at Gamearena and Internode (two of the most popular Aus servers for many games) to read about some of the troubles players have experienced. Unfortunately, I doubt this will change especially in those servers I mentioned before simply because its now school holidays so the number of immature players is going to increase. That's not saying that all the school-age children are immature players, I've had a few rounds with a bunch of younguns the other day and when we worked together over VoIP it made me feel very old

I know what you mean. When I get TK'd I actually think if it was done unintentionally or stupidly before I press page up/down. Especially if they actually say they are sorry. To take the time to hold Q and then move the mouse the the "Sorry" command (takes about a second to do) is enough to convince me that they actually cared and it was an accident and I usually let it go.

We shouldn't even go down the path of TKs and punishment as my blood will really boil As you say, it only takes a second to say sorry, but even when I do get tked by accident and the person doesn't apologize, I still don't punish them. However conversely it seems every time I tk by accident (e.g. I throw a grenade and a brilliant teammate decides to run to right where it lands) I get a punish, even despite apologies and the clear fact it was an accident.

I don't want to get into a whine-fest, since all of these aspects of gameplay are (all too sadly) a common feature on many online games nowadays. But it really does make it hard to enjoy the game, so on balance I try very hard to keep well away from teammates. Fortunately in BF2142 the scoring system seems to still reward you quite well and as I say I wind up in the top few people each round despite the lack of extra points from squad-related activities.

speaking of mines, I notices allot of server are turning off ff and punish now due to overwhelming newbies joining and playing BF2142.

Yep Crazy I do the same. If i hear no "sry" i just punish. Unless I ran into a nads while going after an enemy.
You lose nothing by forgiving, but other 12 sec of waiting for re spawn. Unless a smart Med come in and rez (switching pack from falling victim if you're not a medic)

and I alway switch pack and try to rez my team if i feel the area is clear.

Thats fair enough. For those same reasons, i have no love for xbox live. Considering consoles are cheaper, more accessible and eaiser to use, anyone with half a brain can turn the things on and plug in a mic and start spamming a game with immature trash.

I was involved in a bf2 clan for a while and although they played quite well, voip was a complete nightmare. It has potential and can really help but when theres 6+ young kids in a same chat room, things get a little... stupid to say the least. I left the clan because i can't take this. Alot of clans have their 18+ rules etc but honestly that even is meaningless. Just because your 18 doesn't mean you can't be an immature irritating person. If you know how the game works and are mature, i have no problems with that. I've honestly played with more mature 14 years than 20+ year olds, which is quite sad ( then again that may because they were all intoxicated... ) Age is of no concern if you got it together. ( although i do admit i can only listen to small kids so long before i blow a fuse as well )

Also if you want to know a funny trick with claymores, shoot an enemies claymore with the z advanced sniper as a team mate runs by. They will get a tk. This is why sometimes i've gotten random tks without knowing why but ive figured that out.

Well after a few more games recently, I've decided to put the game on indefinite hiatus. In one round in particular I was punished 3 times in a row by multiple people for teamkills which were the result of their own stupidity. Basically they kept running over my mines and blowing themselves up, despite the fact that I placed these mines as close as humanly possibly to the walls/borders on a silo, leaving a huge amount of room for people to use to drive past. When a vehicle full of friendlies is blown up by your mines and when all of them punish you, you lose a huge amount of points (and can even be kicked), and it also really makes you incredibly mad when it's their own fault.

Just to labor the point, here is a typical example of my mine placement technique at a silo (my mines are circled in red to highlight) from various angles:



This is literally how I place mines almost every time - well out of the way. As you can see, it is simply amazing to me that anyone would be able to somehow plow a tank, walker or plane full of people into these mines and then have the audacity to blame me for it. It also completely wastes the mines to boot.

As an engineer my primary tool in defending a silo - in fact a major tool for the entire team - is the motion mines. They are incredibly effective in holding a silo against vehicles, particularly heavy vehicles like walkers and tanks. If I constantly get tks and punishes due to peoples' lack of observation skills and insistance in running into mines which are placed as out of the way as possible (and come with a red skull and crossbones warning sign), then the game becomes pointless and/or incredibly frustrating for me to play.

This combined with other stupid/inconsiderate tactics people use - like flying off the Titan in a transport by themselves despite many of us needing a lift, and then dumping that transport (jumping out of it in mid-flight), just so that the particular individual can get to where he/she wants to go as quickly as possible. In fact a couple of times I've respawned inside a transport mid-flight just as it crashes from being dumped, due to people using this stupid tactic!

Dozens of other things I could go on about, but basically we've covered them above in previous posts. Knife fighting morons, the smack talking kids, the cheap tactics - it's all starting to become normal in this game as it has in so many other online games. The game is fine, the community is ruining it.

I became very angry and abusive last night while playing and I'm not proud of that, so it's best I don't play this game any more, at least until either they patch some of the exploits and annoyances (like not being able to punish for running over friendly mines), or until the relatively few Australian servers are better admined.

Your problem can be solved by a simple filter OFF FF on your game KOR.

This game is remind me of TFC. Alots of possibility on having fun. Can't wait for TFC 2 : D it will be like BF2142 with a fresh gameplay but same class fun like in BF2142.

Australia does not have that many local servers, and most if not all of them have FF on. Turning FF off leaves me with exactly 4 or 5 servers running Titan mode, most of the time which they are full. Plus I think friendly fire is a good thing in some ways, as it stops a lot of spam. If FF is off the vehicles and Titan guns can spam a silo to defend it without fear of hitting friendlies. You can also spam a roadway with mines which again makes it hard for the enemy - this changes tactics a lot and in my opinion unbalances the game and makes it much harder for the side not holding the silo, and much less realistic.

This also doesn't deal with the other annoyances I've listed, so in any case my personal choice is not to continue playing this game. I don't want to derail the thread completely into my personal grievances with BF2142, as it's a personal thing. Some people don't have the same problems I do, it also depends on which kit(s) you play and which servers you play on as to your particular experiences I suppose.

After playing this game for over a month on my new system this weird problem came up that I am trully stumped on. I called EA tech support and the only answer they could give me was that my dual core proc was not supported, so they could not fix my problem. All drivers are up to date. I have removed the game completely from my machine twice without any success. If anyone could suggest any solutions to my problem I would greatly appreciate it.
