Well, I was looking through my GameCube collection and found "Megaman Anniversary Collection" I went to Gamespot to see there review for it, and the video was just him going though all 46 NES bosses. With the Megaman music in the background. I don't feel embarrased at all to say that the video got me emotional about 1/3 of the way in, because Capcom has really screwed up what was so great about Megaman back in the day. Now with all this MegamanX stuff going on I just can't stand it. So I'm glad I'm getting to replay through the only good, tried and true, MegaMan games. 1-7 were really the only ones that are good to me. 7 being the only SNES one that was like the original. Anyone else's thoughts?
Here is a link to the review video (and jsut a heads up it shows some of the bosses weaknesses if any of you dont want to know them ;) ) : http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/action/megamananniversarycollection/review.html

I think fans of the old Megaman games from since the NES days probably dislike the MegamanX games because they seem so much easier. The difficulty of the old games compared to that of the X series definitely deters people who aren't hardcore gamers, or just people who don't have the skillz or time from playing them.
Capcom went down that road with quite a few games, where they simplified the controls and game objectives so that they could attract more people to the games. The thing that puzzles me is how the old games like on the NES seem more difficult than the more recent ones from the same line on like PS2 or Xbox. I mean it's kind of obvious why this has happened when you look at the differences in game design, but I'm still puzzled as to why it got so much easier for games like Megaman series or Sonic series.
i never liked MegaMan very much however, I STILL LOVE MegaMan X
iv played MMX3,4,5 and 8
wanna play the rest of the series...
zero is the coolest!

I remember back when I was 8 or 9 and I had an NES and all I did was play super mario 3 and megaman 2 & 4 (since those were the only megaman games I had/could afford at the time). Man that was a long time ago it seems! :P
I disliked the MegaMan X series for its ease, but I loved the MMZ series that was on the gameboy advance for the challenge those games presented.
